Founded by Amelia Vargas, L.Ac., LE and Diana Horowitz, L.Ac., EastWest Microneedling was created to empower licensed acupuncturists and holistic aesthetic practitioners to grow their practices through a unique, integrative approach to Microneedling. By blending the wisdom of Eastern medicine with modern Microneedling techniques, we help practitioners to offer safe, effective and highly in-demand treatments to their patients.

Meet The Founders
Amelia Vargas, L.Ac., LE & Diana Horowitz, L.Ac.
Amelia Vargas and Diana Horowitz are seasoned facial acupuncturists, both drawn to the same idea: that beauty comes from supporting the whole person, not just treating the surface.
In 2015, they each independently discovered the transformative potential of microneedling and both recognized something familiar in it, a modern development of East Asian medicine’s traditional plum blossom technique. When they reconnected, they realized they were asking the same questions and were drawn together by a shared vision to bridge East Asian medicine and modern aesthetics.
Over the next year, they dedicated themselves to developing and refining their Holistic Integrative Microneedling system, combining modern microchanneling with the diagnostic wisdom and adjunctive therapies of East Asian medicine, while ensuring the method remained aligned with the principles of safety, efficacy and whole-body wellness.
In 2018, they co-founded EastWest Microneedling and established themselves as leaders and advocates for acupuncturists in the aesthetic space. In 2025, they expanded their trainings to share the Integrative Microneedling Method with holistically minded estheticians.
Since 2016, Amelia and Diana have served as co-chairs of the Microneedling Task Force for the Acupuncture Association of Colorado, continuously pioneering innovations in holistic skincare and advancing the field for holistically oriented skincare professionals worldwide.
EastWest Microneedling is more than a certification course. It equips acupuncturists and other skincare professionals with the skills, confidence and business acumen to elevate their practice and redefine holistic beauty.

Amelia Vargas L.Ac., LE & Co-founder
Amelia’s passion for Acupuncture began in her early teens, inspired by her experiences with holistic medicine. While pursuing her Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine studies in 2003 at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO, she discovered an unexpected love for esthetics, leading her to obtain her Esthetician license alongside her acupuncture training. During and post graduation, Amelia deepened her expertise in facial acupuncture under the guidance of Virginia Doran and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield (when she also first met Diana). She is particularly passionate about Microneedling as a gateway to holistic health for her clients and is excited to share her knowledge with fellow practitioners.
Diana Horowitz L.Ac. & Co-founder
Diana’s journey into Acupuncture aesthetics began after graduating from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 2003 and moving to Denver, CO. She was introduced to a “beauty from the inside out” philosophy by the late Doc Ron Rosen, OMD, who deeply influenced her approach. She later studied under facial renewal pioneer Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L.Ac., becoming not only a student but an assistant and educator of Wakefield’s facial Acupuncture systems. In 2015, Diana was introduced to Procell Microchanneling and immediately recognized its transformative potential when integrated with East Asian medicine. Inspired by this synergy, she partnered with Amelia to develop a uniquely integrative, holistic Microneedling approach—one that bridges ancient wisdom and modern technology to offer exceptional results for both practitioners and their patients.
